Completed Volunteer Registration?
Abbotts Creek welcomes volunteers to support our instructional program. There are many ways you can volunteer in and out of school. WCPSS has organized volunteer services in the schools to improve student safety. Volunteers must register each year using a WCPSS computer (you will need your driver’s license or another form of ID to register). Computers have been designated in the media center for this purpose and we encourage you to register early. The volunteer system conducts a criminal background check on all applicants.
The following volunteer levels are options for your selection:
Level 1: Activity with no student contact (i.e. copying, Media Center volunteer)
Level 2: Activity in classroom or other group setting (i.e. classroom parent, Field Day volunteer)
Level 3: Activity that involves direct contact with students under limited supervision (i.e. field trip chaperone, tutoring)
Level 4: Activity allowing unsupervised contact with students on or off campus (not usually applicable to elementary school)
Volunteers need to sign in in the office upon arrival on campus to receive a badge. Volunteers need to also sign out when leaving the school. Parents, while strongly encouraged to volunteer, are asked to limit classroom visits unless the visit has been prearranged with the teacher.
